A helicopter, Agusta A109E, reportedly crashed down atop a New York building on Monday, June 10, 2019.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that a lone pilot was said to be the only person on board the chopper based on preliminary information,

The Agusta A109E helicopter crashed about 1:45 p.m. ET on the roof of 787 7th Ave., Bergen said.

The New York Fire Department confirmed the pilot of the helicopter is dead.

Initial reports by the New York Police indicated that the helicopter made a “hard landing” on the roof of 787 7th Ave.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash and determine its cause, Bergen said.
