October 31 2014 Not HolidayAre you expecting October 31, 2014 to be a holiday? No it’s not, according to a Malacañang announcement on Thursday, October 30.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said that October 31 will not be a holiday but a half-day work for all government offices nationwide. This means that all public employees will suspend work at 12 p.m. on Friday, except for those who provides “basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital public services.”

Ochoa explained that the declaration was made in observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day.

The half day work declaration was issued through Memorandum Circular No. 73, s. 2014 posted at the government website.
