TVolution was launched by telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) through its HOME broadband. Through TVolution home owners can browse, stream movies, play games and access other multi-media content without the need for a laptop or desktop.
The latest PLDT offering reportedly transforms ordinary TV sets into an internet capable device.
PLDT Vice President and head of HOME broadband, Gary Dujali explained that TVolution is a plug and play device that allows subscribers to access the internet through their TV sets.
In a statement, Dujali said that “[TVolution] is this small device that allows you to watch internet content not just from your computer but straight towards your television screen. What it does is, if you have a regular or an ordinary TV, it transforms the ordinary TV into an internet TV.”
Reports say that TVolution specifications indicates that it runs on an Android platform and connects to any HDMI-ready TV and syncs with a PLDT HOME WiFi connection. It has 4GB of internal data storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI input and output and two USB ports.
