LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated by the Carmelo Anthony led New York Knicks, 95-90, at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH on Thursday night, October 30, 2014.
It was the first regular NBA game for James after his return to his native home of Ohio.
Anthony led the Knicks with 25 points and six assists. He shot nine of 17 field goals and forced James to eight turnovers and a miserable shooting night. The Knicks superstar sealed the game winning shot with a baseline jump shot over James with just 25 seconds left.
Kyrie Irving scored 22 and Kevin Love added 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
Before the game, James was greeted with a thunderous ovation by over 20,000 fans
Derek Fisher meanwhile chalked up his first win as an NBA coach.
The Knicks will host the Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday while the Cavaliers visits the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
