Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus registered a new record sales for the Cupertino-based tech giant.
In a statement issued by Apple, the company announced that it has sold over 10 million iPhones over the weekend.
The iPhone 6 broke last year’s 9 million debut of iPhone 5S and 5C.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said that “While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
Analysts earlier predicted that iPhone 6 might miss the 10 million mark after Apple failed to go on sale in China.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were made available in Apple stores on September 19 in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.
