GM Recalls Chevy Cobalt and Pontiac G5 Vehicles

A GM recall was ordered by the company on vehicles with ignition switch problem. About 780,000 GM vehicles are affected by the recall, according to reports on Friday, February 14, 2014.

The recent recall by GM involves the 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt and the 2007 Pontiac G5. About 619,000 vehicles affected by the GM recall are registered in the U.S., 153,000 in Canada, and 6,000 in Mexico.

GM is recalling 745,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and 35,000 Pontiac G5.

Reports say that the ignition issue automatically shut off the engine of the car while in motion. Heavy keychain or travelling on rough roads were reportedly the common scenario that triggers the ignition problem.

There were already six fatalities brought about by the ignition switch problem.
