LeBron James had a triple-double to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers against Golden State Warriors 93-89 to become the first NBA champion to rally from a 3-1 Finals deficit. It also marked the first title for the City of Ohio in 52 years.
James scored 28 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished off 11 assists. Kyrie Irving provided the needed support for James with 26 points.
Draymond Green led the Warriors with 32 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson had a dissappointing night with 17 and 14 points each.
Golden State’s historic season has been halted with Cleveland’s own date with history. The Warriors had a record breaking 73-9 regular season record. But a determined Cavaliers team won the last three games of the Finals to clinch James’ first championship after he returned.
