Typhoon Glenda Update: Bridges and Roads Still Unpassable

Typhoon Glenda has claimed at least 40 individuals and damaged 115 division schools, according to the latest update by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Areas with reported great damage include Region 4-A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon); five from Region 4B (MIMAROPA); four from Bicol Region; three from Region 3 (Central Luzon); and two each from Metro Manila and Region 8 (Eastern Visayas). Typhoon Glenda Photo Credit: ANC The latest PAGASA weather update indicated that Typhoon Glenda (international codename: Rammasun) was spotted at 620 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes on Monday, July 14, 2014. Typhoon Glenda is reportedly heading into the Bicol region and western part of Luzon at 28 kph. Due to Typhoon Glenda, PAGASA raised storm signal no. 2 in the areas of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.
