Earthquake in the Philippines today, October 7, 2014

A magnitude quake shook the southern Philippines at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, October 7, 2014. The earthquake was felt in the area of Batangas City after a rush of rain poured for several minutes. Heavy rains stranded students and employees at the start of rush hour. Earthquake in California Today: 6.0 Magnitude Quake Triggers Fire, Gas Leaks

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Northern Bay Area in California on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Reports say that at least 70 people were taken to hospital. There were also several reports of gas leaks, water line breakage, fire, and power outage. Two major injuries have been reported, and hospitals have been very busy with moderate injuries, Napa Division Fire Chief John Callanan said earlier.
