The skyway accident in Manila this morning has claimed the lives of at least 20 passengers.

A Don Mariano bus reportedly fell off the elevated Skyway and plunged into a van running below.
Initial reports pointed to overspeeding as the cause of the incident.

Along with this fatal incident, my mom received an sms telling her that I was at the accident and was hit.
“Ma, nabangga ang sinasakyan namin (my family; hubby and baby). May tama ako sa ulo. Nakigamit lang ako ng celphone. Paki-loadan ng 300 ang number na ito: 09482138784.”

We were out that day and I was even posting some pictures on facebook and instagram, which were viewable by my mom. If we had not been home when my mom called via landline, she would’ve freaked out.
Why would people do such thing as this? Ganito na ba talaga kasama at kawalang-puso ang mga kawatan ngayon, na maski ang nakapanlulumong aksidente tulad nito ay gagamiting tool para sila makapanlamang?
And I wonder, how many of us yesterday had been victimized by this despicable act?
Paano kung malayo sa isa’t isa ang mag-kakamag anak na nakareceive nito… Ano na lang ang iisipin ng mga kawawang ina na nakatanggap ng sms na ito?
