A train of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) overshot its track at the Taft Avenue-EDSA intersection on today, August 13, 2014.

The MRT train was reportedly being pushed by another train when it suddenly broke loose and went uncontrolled due to lack of brakes.

Several passengers were injured and taken to the San Juan de Dios Hospital and Pasay General Hospital.

This MRT train accident caused heavy traffic in the area of EDSA-Pasay and Taft Avenue-Roxas.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino was one of the first officials who arrived at the incident and personally supervised the traffic.

As of posting, the MMDA is still awaiting for the arrival of SOCO before they can remove any debris in the area and clear the way for commuters.
