The instant popularity of Flappy Bird will soon meet its abrupt ending.

Flappy Bird developer, Dong Nguyen has announced on his Twitter account that he will be taking down his popular app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store at 1 AM (Manila time) on Monday, February 10, 2014.

The Flappy Bird app has catapulted to the top of the app charts and has a $50,000 daily ad revenue.

Is Dong Nguyen serious in taking Flappy Bird out of the App Stores? Or is this a marketing strategy to attract attention and gain more iOS and Android users as they try to take advantage of the remaining hours to download the Flappy Bird app?

As of posting, Dong Nguyen’s tweet on Flappy Bird take down has attracted almost 100,000 ReTweets and close to 30,000 Favorites by Twitter users.
