Deniece Cornejo surrendered to the Philippine National Police at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, May 5, 2014.

Reports say that Deniece Cornejo was accompanied by Rod Cornejo and Atty. Ferdinand Topacio.

In a TV interview, Atty. Topacio denied that he is the official legal counsel of Deniece Cornejo.

The model is one of five individual who is charged with serious illegal detention of Vhong Navarro. The actor-tv host was reportedly mauled by the group of Deniece Cornejo last January 22.

Deniece Cornejo was presented and had a brief conversation with PNP chief Alan Purisima.

PNP Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac explained that Deniece Cornejo presented herself to the PNP.

As of posting, Deniece Cornejo is being detained at the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) detention facility in Camp Crame.

Authorities will await the decision of the court on where Deniece Cornejo will be detained.

Last April 25, Cornejo’s co-accused, Cedric Lee and Simeon Raz were arrested in Oras, Eastern Samar.
