His gigantic lobster reportedly underwent a hotly contested bidding at the Wenling fish market in southeast China. Pan was very surprised with the turnout of the bidding. The fisherman explained that the bidders “were shouting out that it was the god of lobsters, and I couldn’t believe it when the price just kept going up.” The winning bidder was kept anonymous. The National University (NU) Bulldogs won the Season 77 University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball championship over the Far Eastern University Tamara’s, 75-59, on Wednesday, at the Araneta Coliseum. It was NU’s first UAAP men’s basketball crown in 60 years since 1954. Defence carried the Bulldogs to victory versus the offense of the Tamaraws. Hans Sy of SM Group of Companies was among the thousands of fans who witnessed the record breaking championship game. Earthquake in California Today: 6.0 Magnitude Quake Triggers Fire, Gas Leaks

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Northern Bay Area in California on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Reports say that at least 70 people were taken to hospital. There were also several reports of gas leaks, water line breakage, fire, and power outage. Two major injuries have been reported, and hospitals have been very busy with moderate injuries, Napa Division Fire Chief John Callanan said earlier.
