Due to heavy rains brought about by low pressure area (LPA), several areas were declared no classes today, August 10, 2016. Local government and school officials were forced to suspend classes in Metro Manila and nearby provinces as PAGASA warned of continuous downpour in Luzon and Western Visayas due to the LPA. Typhoon Melor or Bagyong Nona has made landfall in Batag Island, Northern Samar at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015. PAGASA issued the latest bulletin on Typhoon Nona during a press conference earlier. Due to Typhoon Nona, several local government units and schools have declared suspension of work and classes.
